Where the Locals Ski and Ride   An immortal winter giant, the mountain stands tall with a summit elevation of 13,050 feet, blanketed in fresh snow. From the base it invites you, calm and silent. Over sixty trails expertly carved through its depths and five chairlifts raising excited patrons to the sky, you stand in awe, captivated by its brilliance as the sun peaks curiously through the snow-filled clouds. It is the Legendary Arapahoe basin. Since 1946, Arapahoe Basin has been serving up a fantastic ride for skiers from the Colorado area as well as the world. Gold Mine Tour and Gold Panning   Your tour begins In Argotown where an experienced guide will inform you of the history of the tunnel, the mine and the mill and give a live demonstration of the crushing, milling and rock drilling. March 9-11, National Western Complex   Thousands of horse lovers and fans from around the region are getting ready for the 20th annual Rocky Mountain Horse Expo, with four-days of horse related family entertainment, crafts, vendors, educational exhibits, art and demonstrations scheduled for March 9-11 at the National Western complex in Denver. Expo 2012 features every type and size of horse, from show horses to working horses, dancing horses and ponies, and gives horse owners and fans the chance to meet and learn from the region's leading horse trainers, riders and clinicians. Highlights this year includes the Mane Event performances, with professional equine entertainers, and over 45 clinics per day featuring horsemanship workshops, riding, extreme trail, dressage and jumping demonstrations.
