Today I am excited to share with you pictures from our family outing last week to The Butterfly Pavilion’s Bug-a-Boo Halloween Event in Denver, Colorado. I am a Colorado native, and yet I had never been to The Butterfly Pavilion! It was such a neat place! My kids were totally into the bugs! The fun started outside the building, where they spotted a GIANT praying mantis. Plus, right as we walked into the door we spotted a stilt walker! Too fun!
Once we were inside, one of my boy's favorite things was getting to hold Rosie the tarantula. I thought he would freak out, but he was tickled to have the opportunity! Literally. Her crawling made him giggle. :) The kids also loved getting to touch crabs and sea stars. My little lady’s favorite part of the outing BY FAR was the actual butterfly pavilion! The kids loved watching the butterflies flitting about and getting up close to them. It really was beautiful in there!
All throughout the event there were trick-or-treating stations, which the kids loved, naturally. We ended in the main room where there were all types of events going on. There was a face painter and a caricaturist, but unfortunately the lines were way too long for us to realistically do either of those with our little kids. I hope next year they have more than one artist at each station, because their work was AWESOME! We did, however, pick out pumpkins and decorate them and enjoy the COCKROACH RACES! They kindof creeped out Mom, but my son was loving every minute! They put them onto the track and then the cockroaches run toward the dark area at the end of the track.
Overall, we had a lovely time. It was a fun and unique event, as we look forward to returning and making it one of our Colorado Halloween traditions!
